What Does “Pre-Shipment” Mean?

Pre-Shipment means a shipping label has been created and registered with the carrier, but they haven't physically received or scanned the package yet.

This status indicates the shipper has created tracking but hasn't handed off the package. Expect updates within 24-48 hours once the carrier receives the shipment.

Common Scenarios

Pre-Shipment for 3+ days — Shipper may not have dropped off the package yet. Contact seller if status persists.
Label created but order cancelled — Tracking number may never activate. Confirm order status with seller.

When to Escalate

  • Pre-Shipment status persists beyond 3-5 business days
  • Seller claims shipment was sent but tracking never updates

Carrier Differences

All carriers show similar Pre-Shipment/Label Created status. Duration before first scan depends on shipper's drop-off timing.
