What Shipyu Provides for FedEx Tracking
Shipyu centralizes FedEx tracking data into a single operational view.
Shipyu processes FedEx tracking events in real time and converts raw scan data into actionable status updates. Operations teams use Shipyu to monitor inbound and outbound FedEx shipments without manually refreshing carrier pages.
With Shipyu, you can monitor FedEx Express, Ground, Home Delivery, and SmartPost shipments, view scan-level timestamps and facility locations, detect delivery exceptions before they impact customers, track proof of delivery and signature confirmation, and monitor service level commitments and delivery SLAs.
Shipyu flags FedEx shipments that risk missing committed delivery windows so teams can intervene early.
How FedEx Tracking Works
FedEx assigns standardized tracking statuses as shipments move through its network.
- In Transit — FedEx has scanned the shipment at a facility, and it is moving toward the destination. - Out for Delivery — The package is on a FedEx delivery vehicle and is scheduled for delivery that day. - Delivered — FedEx has delivered the shipment. The tracking record may include a delivery timestamp and proof of delivery. - Exception — FedEx encountered a delivery issue. Exceptions may include address problems, weather delays, or failed delivery attempts.
Common FedEx Tracking Issues
"Label Created" but No Movement — FedEx has received label information, but the physical package has not yet been scanned into the network.
Shipment Stuck in Transit — Shipments may pause between facilities due to routing, weather conditions, or operational delays.
Delivery Exception — FedEx may delay delivery due to incorrect addresses, customs holds, or recipient unavailability.
Shipyu monitors these scenarios and alerts teams when shipments deviate from expected timelines.
FedEx Tracking Number Format
FedEx tracking numbers typically contain 12 digits, 15 digits, or 20–22 digits (SmartPost)
