Shipyu ShipmentProtection Terms

Shipyu Shipment Protection provides coverage for eligible outbound shipments created through Shipyu prior to entering transit. Coverage is limited and subject to the following exclusions, conditions, and requirements.

Exclusions (Not Covered)

  • Cash, currency, financial instruments, or negotiable documents of any kind.
  • Precious items including jewelry, gemstones, bullion, or similar valuables.
  • Perishable goods affected by delay, spoilage, or natural deterioration unless directly caused by a covered incident.
  • Shipments improperly packaged, labeled, or prepared against carrier guidelines.
  • Minor or cosmetic damage that does not affect the functionality of the item.
  • Damage resulting from insufficient protective packaging.
  • Personal shipments, gifts, samples, or promotional goods.
  • Shipments violating international regulations, trade restrictions, or sanctioned destinations.
  • Losses caused by fraud, dishonesty, or intentional misconduct.
  • Events related to war, government action, civil unrest, or similar large-scale disruptions.
  • Nuclear events, radiation, or contamination.
  • Customs-related delays, seizures, or inspections.
  • Items restricted or prohibited in the destination country.
  • Additional costs such as shipping fees, tariffs, or processing charges.

Conditions

  • Protection must be added before the shipment enters the carrier network.
  • Claims must be submitted within required timeframes:
    • Damage: within 30 days of shipment creation
    • Domestic loss: between 15–60 days
    • International loss: between 30–90 days
  • Valid documentation is required, including proof of value, claim details, and supporting evidence (photos, statements, etc.).
  • Damaged goods must be retained if requested during review.
  • Claims may be denied if:
    • Tracking shows delivered without sufficient proof of error or theft
    • Shipment required a signature and was signed successfully
  • Shipyu may request additional verification or documentation at any time.
  • Maximum coverage per shipment is $5,000.
  • Approved claims are credited to the user account after review.
  • Filing a claim waives the ability to file with another insurance provider for the same shipment.
  • Claims involving duplicate insurance coverage will not be processed.
  • Shipyu reserves the right to repair, replace, or partially reimburse based on item condition.
  • Policy may be updated at any time.

General

  • Coverage applies only to eligible outbound shipments created through Shipyu.
  • Misrepresentation or fraud voids all protection.
  • Partial losses (e.g., sets or bundles) are reimbursed proportionally.
